You can pay your Zakaat contribution to the Australian New Muslims Association.

With your financial support ANMA can increase propagation and intake of new Muslims. Currently, ANMA has managed to consistently average 4 new Muslims per week. Financial support is a must if we are to continue nurturing their Islamic development and provide educational and welfare needs.

ANMA also accepts Zakaat al-Fitr, an obligatory charity on every Muslim throughout the month of Ramadan.

For further information on how to calculate your Zakaat visit our Contact page , one of the ANMA members will be able to explain the calculation otherwise you can send your donation to;

The Australian New Muslims Association

It must be noted that despite functioning as an organization, ANMA does not view itself as an organization or a particular group. Sincere brothers and sisters who meet and depart only for the sake and pleasure of Allah run ANMA on a voluntary basis. Many of the volunteers are in-fact New Muslims who have come through our various initiatives.

Want to know more about Zakaat?

What is Zakaat?

Zakaat occupies the third pillar, after shahdah and prayer, in the five fundamental pillars of Islam.

Zakaat literally means purification and growth.

Zakaat is a payment on accumulated wealth, such as gold, silver, trade and money. Zakaat is paid at almost a minimum uniform rate of 2.5%.

Who pays Zakaat?

The nature of Zakaat is compulsory (fard) for a sane Muslim, male or female.

Who are the recipients of Zakaat?

The people who should receive Zakaat are clearly outlined by Allah,

“Zakaat is for the poor and the needy and those who are employed to administer and collect it (the funds), and the new converts, and for freeing slaves, those in debt, in the cause of Allah, and for the traveler. It is a duty ordained by Allah, and Allah is the All-Knowing, the Wise.” (Surah At-Tawbah 9:60)

When do I pay Zakaat?

Zakaat is obligatory after a time span of one lunar year that passes with the money in control of the owner. One should fix a definite month for the giving of Zakkat – a favourable time is the blessed month of Ramadan, the month of generosity.
